Construction Interface Management
(The official course of the PMI-CP™ Curriculum)
Interface Management (IM) is integral to project success, and has emerged as an independent discipline in the delivery of Built Environment projects and mega projects. In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of Interface Management and how to use it to address challenges and minimize risks in Built Environment projects, as well as how to manage it effectively throughout the project lifecycle. The course also discusses the tools and processes that are available to enhance IM, and the skills and core competencies required to embed Interface Management into your Built Environment project.
Through comprehensive study of Interface Management principles, students explore the systematic approach to identifying, tracking, and resolving technical, organizational, and physical interfaces in complex projects. The curriculum covers critical aspects of establishing interface agreements, managing interface points between different project elements and stakeholders, and implementing effective interface control tools and systems. Students also learn how to integrate Interface Management with other project management disciplines, utilize digital interface management platforms, and develop strategies for successful interface coordination across multi-disciplinary teams.
