Construction Contract and Risk Management

(The official course of the PMI-CP™ Curriculum)

In the Built Environment, the contract process is often completed in silos and can lead to a lack of mutual understanding of the different contract clauses, resulting in several issues. In this course, you will learn how to manage these issues by establishing the right strategy to implement best practices across the contract lifecycle. Students will also understand how to classify, prioritize and manage risks in Built Environment projects, in order to minimize or avoid claims and disputes from occurring.

The course explores fundamental strategies for effective contract management, risk assessment, and dispute prevention in Built Environment projects. Students learn to navigate complex contractual relationships, understand various contract types and clauses, and implement robust risk management frameworks. The curriculum also covers essential skills in claims prevention, dispute resolution techniques, and the use of modern contract administration tools, ensuring students can effectively manage contractual relationships while minimizing potential conflicts throughout the project lifecycle.
